4 Things that Helped Me Become a Winter Person

I don't know why I was fighting it...

We all know the saying:

"There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes"

And even though I've known it for a long time, I sometimes forget to apply basic winter-surviving rules, especially when I'm at home.

Because I do not forget to wear a jacket and gloves when I'm outside. But I do slowly get cold after sitting at my desk for hours.

And last December, I finally invested in warm layering pieces:

1. Knee-High Socks

If you're like me and wear wide-leg and flared pants, you know about "the draft". Now, with these thick socks, my calves stay warm and I can even wear off-season pants in the winter.

2. Thermal Tees

I've loved these cotton tees for years and got some newer ones three seasons ago until I realized that I'd like my thermals to be longer and less form-fitting, so I can tuck them into my pants, and so they don't ride up as I bend over and move. I eventually got a pair of these fleece T-shirts, a black one and a white one, to layer in style.

3. A Puffy Hood

This one was on my Christmas list, and my wish came true. I love that it can just rest around my neck when I enter an establishment, no more tucking beanies into pockets!

4. Puffy Flip-Top Mittens

I have to give a special mention to my favorite winter mittens. I got them at Target a few years ago but cannot find them on their website anymore. A pricy alternative would be these, a flashy one would be these, and the almost exact ones would be these. These don't have a flip-top but they look pretty good.

What do you wear in the wintertime?
