My 26 for 2026 List
You didn't think I'd skip it this year, did you?
Happy New Year! How are you feeling?
I went to bed early and woke up excited for the year ahead. I'll talk a little more about December and 2025 in my newsletter on Monday, so for now I'll just say that I'm eager for a reset—even though our calendar is arbitrary and this date doesn't really mean anything (I'm team solstice).
I woke up with a little bit of a cloudy brain, called my parents, cold-plunged to clear my head, and now I'm on my way to meet with my French friends to eat lentils for good luck and wealth (look it up).

I can't start the year without a ritual list of goals, so here it goes, in no particular order:
1. Yoga with Adriene 30-day yoga challenge
This is my favorite way to start the year. I love a challenge, I need the accountability, and my neck/back need more mindful movement.
2. Weave a basket
This has been on a previous list, but I have now found the perfect pattern to follow, rather than waiting for the right class to appear at the right time...
3. Plan quarterly reset days
At the end of 2025, I started treating my birthday—the 20th of each month—as a reset day. In 2026, I want to intentionally plan these check-ins at least quarterly, to review my finances, calendar, home, body, and intentions.
4. Take the AIARE 1 - Level 1 Avalanche Training
I've signed up for a mentorship program and a backcountry course, hoping to feel safer and more confident exploring the mountains.
5. Book 4 massages
One a season sounds like a good place to start. I tend to think about booking a massage when I'm in pain, and I've decided that I will schedule them at regular intervals instead. Something to look forward to all year long! My first session might involve Ashiatsu!
6. Travel to a new place with Octave
We're planning to visit each other's family in France in 2026, and also want to spend a week - just the two of us - somewhere new in Europe. I'd love to cross a new country off my list (28 so far), Octave suggested Slovenia.
7. Get another tattoo?!
New ink two years in a row, what's happening? I'm done with arms for now and want to design a cool thigh tattoo.
8. Make art pop with frames and mats
I want to switch up the art in my home and, mostly have fun with mats: color, placement, etc. I created a whole inspiration board. Now all I need is a reliable mat cutter.
9. Invest in a reading chair or a bigger sofa
I want more cozy spots to sit, especially when friends come over, a loveseat is just not enough.
Ideally, an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, a girl can dream...
10. Get the REAL ID
Now that I finally have a green card! This is boring admin stuff, but a milestone in my immigrant life.
11. Design and embroider a patch
Mark my words, there will be a whole lot of embroidery in my life in 2026. Now I simply need the confidence and the skills to design something, from scratch.
12. Get hired to host a chainstitch embroidery event
Writing this is slightly unhinged, considering I've never used a chainstitch embroidery machine, and don't even own one yet, but I'm determined to make this happen in 2026 and have already started doing a lot of online research. As you already know, Alex Stone of Soothefolk is the ultimate model, and has definitely inspired me!
If you know of local shops that would have any interest in that kind of offering, send them my way (think sweater, work jacket, bandana cursive embroidering).
13. Complete 100 upper body workouts
I've known for years that I should get stronger, and balance the fact that I mostly exercise my lower body, but watching videos of avalanche rescues finally convinced me that I should strengthen my arms. I need accountability to make it happen. Will this work (out)?
14. Ride 2'600 km in 2026
I think I rode about 2'000 km in 2025, so I'm pretty confident this goal is reachable.
15. Read 26 novels
I usually put this as my first goal, but I decided to shake things up. I also replaced books with novels because I want to read more fiction. Podcasts and YouTube already meet my need to be informed on specific subjects (for now). Here's my reading list so far.
16. Host 2+6 community events
I had so much fun hosting the muffin pan soup night! I want to host at home more often, and bonus point if there's a theme!
What other themed event should I host? Café Saturday? Cookie tasting? Pi(e) Day?
17. Go crosscountry skiing, splitboarding, or snowboarding 2+6 times (at least!)
This does not seem like a lot, but it's already more times than I went last year... Could I reach 26 times? That might be a stretch!
18. Sew the patterns I've already printed: Arthur pants, Tate romper, Joni jacket
I have to stop ordering patterns and not using them. Let the fabric quest begin!
19. Send 4 creative mailings
I'm inspired by all my creative friends and want to challenge myself to send a physical newsletter accompanied by a small art piece (sticker, block print, or similar) four times in 2026!
20. Drill drainage holes in plants pots and get/make saucers
My plants are doing well, but I want to make watering a smoother process, especially if we end up traveling for a long period of time. And I want to make use of Octave's pottery wheel...
21. Design and print a zine
Enough talking about zines, now it's time to make them!
22. Crochet the Taylor hat
I got this pattern for myself for Christmas, I've ordered colorful yarn, and made sure I had the right sized hook. I'm excited for my first substantial crochet project!
23. Summit South Sister
It was on my summer bucket list, but I never really made plans for it, so I hope adding it to this list to my calendar, studying the trail, and mentioning it to friends will help me achieve this goal this year. Who's in?
24. Film, edit, and post 26 reels
I can't believe I'm writing this, considering how little I think about the Conscious by Chloé Instagram account and how I haven't really posted anything worth calling a reel on my account. But I really want to challenge myself to learn a new skill.
25. Bake 12 times
I know this was a total failure last year, but I'm willing to give this one another try. I think I not only need to put this in my calendar, but I also need to plan what I will bake and make sure I have the ingredients during the week leading up to it. What's your favorite baking book? Any fail-proof recipe you're willing to share with me in the comments?
26. Have a booth at a market
I get an insane amount of pleasure watching YouTube videos of people's market set-ups and dream of designing a booth. The main issue: inventory.
A question for you: Imagine me at a market, what am I selling?
